Lynn Welch spent three decades operating in the environments where AI failure has real consequences — defense, healthcare, homeland security, and the federal procurement systems that govern them. That foundation began at the Institute for Defense Analyses, where thirteen years of DARPA-sponsored work put her at the center of the original questions about autonomous systems, human-machine decision authority, and what accountability looks like when outcomes matter. It carried forward through successive roles scaling AI analytics platforms in defense and homeland security markets, leading P&L and go-to-market strategy for healthcare simulation infrastructure across academic medical centers and the federal health system, and building global enterprise market access for AI-driven immersive platforms at the executive level.
That operating history is the basis for The Lion’s View. The advisory work that holds up in high-stakes, regulated environments comes from someone who has operated inside them — not studied them from the outside.
